Considering the historical importance of NPAK and its structural durability, the design proposal preserves large part of the building. To reconnect the Buzandi and Chaikovski streets, the appendix between NPAK and the neighbouring building was elevated. The library has been added as a separate steel frame structure with large windows that are covered with responsive shutters. The main entrance is retained from the main facade of the original building and leads to the public areas.
The main building was extended with two additional floors that continue the structural frame of the building. They host the theater, restaurant and the winter garden. The finishing tuff tiles have been preserved and the front facade of the main building and outdoor areas are designed to be used for art installations.
